Meet the Spartans
Year of Release: 2008
Director: Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer

Another spoof from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer –need I say more? (Well I have because I have a review below).

What it’s About: Meet the Spartans takes the plot of the film 300 and attempts to spoof it and make it funny (notice I said attempts, well at least I’m pretty sure they were attempting to...)

The Verdict: This movie sucks – bad.  Just like many of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer’s other films this film is a complete mess. All they do is think of every popular movie that has come out in the years before this film, as well as every pop culture moment and attempt to cram them in. The sad thing is they don’t even try and make jokes out of most of it; they simply reference it and think that by doing that people will think “Oh, they’re referring to James Bond! Ha that’s hilarious because that movie just came out!” – It’s not; get a clue you brainless directors – YOU SUCK. These losers can’t even find a way to properly integrate most references into their plot – they end up just being completely random (and those references that absolutely couldn’t be integrated into the plot are stuffed into the end credits, so as to not waste the hard work put into making them...). This film is truly an embarrassment for everyone involved, especially for Kevin Sorbo. I mean come on! That guy was Hercules back in the day, now I know his career hadn’t exactly taken off since finishing the Hercules TV series but was he seriously this desperate?

This is worse than anything Uwe Boll would ever be capable of making. Absolute unfunny trash.

One Craptastic Star(1 Craptastic Star)

Golden Craptastic Moment: This Golden craptastic moment is in no way entertaining or funny (due to a serious lack of those) – but how many times must King Leonidas kick/throw people into the pit of death? He kicks someone in – he walks away – he turns around – goes back and kicks new person in – repeat process another 3 or 4 times. And if you think that was a lot – wait until the credits where you see at least as many more that were cut out.
