When it comes to the world of cinema, there are a variety of tastes. Some people love drama, while others may prefer comedy or action. There are also those who enjoy watching films that they know are going to be terrible. These movies often have production values that rival a home video and dialogue that sounds as if it was written by a 9-year-old. However, despite all of this, many of these films have managed to gain a cult following simply due to their laughable nature.

The world of movies is filled with stories about the happiest fairy tale endings, the evilest villains, and some very crazy characters that you just can’t forget. But not every movie is a happy one. There are many films out there that are so bad that they have become instant classics.

Here we present to you the top 20 worst movies of all time (according to IMDB). In addition to being entertaining in their own right, these films serve as excellent examples of why you should never trust the IMDB ratings alone when deciding what movie to watch next.

These traumatizing movie experiences will make you cringe with their abysmal acting, horrible plot lines, and just plain bad production quality. If you haven’t seen any of these yet, take this as your warning to stay away!

Big Momma’s House

This is a classic comedy from back in the day (or at least it would be if it was actually funny). Big Momma’s House is a comedy that follows a young boy named Malcolm as he struggles to find his place in the world. Malcolm is a recent college graduate who moved back in with his mom, Big Momma. While Malcolm struggles to find a job, he tries to keep the peace in his mother’s home and win her over. Meanwhile, his younger sister, Olivia, is starting school and finding her place in the world. This film is filled with laugh-out-loud moments and will definitely be one you want to add to your must-watch list.

Marcia Gay Harden and Bria Vinaite are both fantastic in this movie. Harden plays Big Momma’s best friend who just happens to be Malcolm’s mom. She was hilarious in this movie and was able to show that she could play several different types of characters. Vinaite plays Olivia whose character is just getting into middle school but has big dreams for herself. Her character was also great and there were some funny scenes between her and Kadeem Hardison. The movie also had some cameos from people like Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Ilana Glazer, and more.

The plot line is just silly enough to make it entertaining, but it fails at every attempt to be even remotely realistic. The acting is so bad that it’s almost painful to watch. Even though this movie is 15 years old now, it will forever be remembered as one of the worst films ever made.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

If you were a kid in the early 2000s and had a thing for Transformers, this movie might have gotten you hooked. But if you are an adult and have seen it recently, you will definitely regret it.

The plot line of this film is very poorly written, and the acting is even worse. It seems like the actors didn’t even try to make their characters believable, and the plot is so far-fetched that it’s almost scary. This movie has a whopping 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it truly deserves a spot on this list.

There are probably only a handful of people out there who have seen this movie and think it’s any good.

Marry-Kill: The Game

We truly believe that this movie was made in one day by the scariest people on the planet. It’s a horror film about a group of guys who are playing a game of “Marry-Kill” with each other and their girlfriends and the girlfriend of one of the guys wants to kill his other girlfriend. The plot is so thin that it’s almost non-existent, and the acting is worthless.

The fact that a movie with such a bad plotline was even made is scary enough. The fact that it’s been watched millions of times is even scarier. This movie is a great example of how not all movies that get a ton of views on YouTube are actually good.

Superhero Movie

We all love a good superhero movie, but this one is not one that we recommend. The plot line of this movie is thin, and the acting is subpar. Luckily, this movie is so bad that it’s actually hilarious to watch. There are moments in this movie that are so unbelievable that the viewer might just throw the remote at the screen in frustration.

This movie is so bad that it’s actually good—almost. It’s still not nearly good enough to be considered a classic. This movie is a great example of how not all movies that get a ton of views on YouTube are actually good.

This movie is a great example of that as it had a surprisingly low budget, yet it still managed to get a lot of views on YouTube. Many people have watched this movie who probably don’t even remember that it exists.

50 First Dates

If you’re the kind of person who likes romantic comedies, you should probably stop reading this article now. This is a movie for people who love bad jokes, unrealistic love stories, and really bad acting. The plot line of this film is very weird and clearly was not thought out very thoroughly before the movie was made. And the acting is so bad that it’s almost painful to watch.

The movie doesn’t fully realize it. The protagonist is an aspiring writer who goes on a blind date with the woman of his dreams. However, the woman he’s matched with isn’t actually interested in dating him, and she turns out to be someone who he has a history with. Things get even more complicated when she reveals that she used to date his best friend. From there, things only get more confusing and complicated as the two try to navigate their feelings while trying to make things work with each other. First Dates has a lot of potentials, but it doesn’t quite deliver on all of it. There are some really good moments here, but overall the movie just feels kind of flat. It’s not bad per se, but it’s definitely not a complete success by any means. Still, if you’re looking for something light and sweet that doesn’t take itself too seriously, First Dates is worth checking out.

This movie gets a 2% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is very surprising considering it stars Adam Sandler. This movie is a great example of how not all movies that get a ton of views on YouTube are actually good.

Baby Boy

If you like movies with a very thin plotline and a ton of awkward moments, this one’s for you. The plot line of this movie is basically non-existent, and the acting doesn’t get much better. This movie is so bad that it’s actually funny to watch.

The only thing that makes this movie a little less bad is the fact that it was released in the late 90s when movies were still being made with very basic equipment. This movie is a great example of how not all movies that get a ton of views on YouTube are actually good.

Disaster Movie

This is a classic example of an absolutely ridiculous movie that has a very thin plotline and terrible acting. This is a parody film about all of the terrible disaster movies that have been made.

This movie fails in almost every way possible and is so bad that it’s actually good. This movie was released in 2008, and it still receives millions of views on YouTube to this day. This movie is a great example of how not all movies that get a ton of views on YouTube are actually good.  clickbait videos

This is one of the most forgettable movies ever created. It has a very thin plot line and some of the worst actings that we have ever seen. The plotline of this film is barely there,

Batman and Robin

Let’s start with the worst movie on this list: Batman and Robin. As most people who have seen this movie can tell you, the film features George Clooney as Batman, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the infamous Mr. Freeze, and – the worst part of them all – Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy. This movie is just plain bad. It’s cheap, has terrible dialogue, and is filled with so many cringe-worthy moments it’s a wonder the film ever got released.

If you’ve seen this movie, chances are you’re still cringing just thinking about how bad it is. But wait, there’s more. The costumes are atrocious, the acting is extremely over-the-top and the plot is so idiotic it seems like the screenwriters just got together and said, “What would be the most ridiculous thing we could come up with?”

Showdown in Little Tokyo

Next up is a movie that was so bad that the studio that released it tried to get it pulled off the market. That’s right, Showdown in Little Tokyo was so bad that Warner Brothers tried to get it pulled off the shelves. This movie features a young Brandon Lee playing a character who is apparently of Japanese descent, despite the fact that Lee is not. It also stars Jon Bernthal as “The Negotiator” and co-stars one of the most racist caricatures in movie history in the form of a character named “Ivan the Russian”.

This movie is so bad it makes the audience cringe. The acting is wooden, the plot is ridiculous and the special effects are laughable. This could very well be the worst movie on this list.

Cleopatra

Next up is one of the most expensive movies ever made: Cleopatra. This film is so bad that it’s supposedly responsible for the studios’ decision to create the “exploitation film” genre. What’s an exploitation film? It’s a movie that’s so bad, producers make a ton of money from it by selling it to as many theater chains as they can. Why? Because the theaters have to show it to be able to collect the money for it.

This classic film about the Egyptian queen is so bad that the thing that’s really useless about it isn’t even the bad acting or the wooden dialogue. No, what makes this movie so awful is the fact that you can see the wires that are used to make the cast fly around in their scenes. This movie is so bad that it makes you awkward just to think about how much it costs to make!

Battlefield Earth

Battlefield Earth, based on the book by L. Ron Hubbard was supposed to be a sci-fi epic that would send people running to the theaters. Unfortunately, what they got instead was a mishmash of bad costumes, worse acting, and a plot that relies on viewers not having read the book. All that coupled with the fact that the movie was written by the author of Battlefield Earth himself – and was determined to be the most expensive film ever made to that point.

This movie is arguably one of the worst movies of all time. It is definitely one of the weirdest movies of all time. This 2001 film stars a young and weirdly seductive John Travolta as a leader of an alien race that has enslaved the human race. His character, Terl, is supposed to be ugly, hairy, and scary, but Travolta’s charming, handsome face makes him seem like the sexiest alien in the galaxy.

Catwoman

If you think the idea of a live-action Catwoman movie sounds great, odds are you haven’t seen Catwoman. In 2004, Halle Berry donned the Catwoman suit as a way to distract audiences from the fact that she made about $14 million from the movie and was contractually obligated to appear in sequels.

She succeeded in distracting audiences, but not in a good way. In this movie, the future Catwoman (played by Berry) is a greedy and neglectful employee at a cosmetics company who uses her boss’s chemical research to become a burglar with superpowers. The movie, which received a whopping 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, features some of the worst dialogue ever put to film and a laughable performance by Berry. She’s so bad in this movie that you might start to wonder if she’s actually a villain in real life.

The Room

The Room is one of the most popular bad movies ever made. Released in 2003, it’s a so-bad-it’s-good flick that has achieved cult status with midnight showings that have turned into full-fledged events. Fans dress in costumes, shout out lines and throw plastic spoons at the screen as if they were in some sort of bizarre sporting event.

The film, about a love triangle between an idiot, his wife, and his best friend, is one of the weirdest movies ever made. The dialogue is awful, the acting is bad and the overall plot is just plain silly. But that’s what makes it so fun! It’s a great movie to watch with friends and make fun of. You’ll definitely have a good time, but you probably won’t remember a thing about it the next day.

The Last Airbender

The Last Airbender was an attempt to create a live-action movie adaptation of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was a massive failure.

The casting of white actors in the lead roles of characters who were Asian in the animated series, along with poor special effects and wooden acting, made this one of the worst movies ever made. The dialogue is cringeworthy and full of cliches, and the plot makes almost no sense at times. It’s a film that is so bad, it’s almost impressive.

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

This movie actually outdoes Battlefield Earth in the awful department. It’s so bad that you almost have to respect the sheer audacity of the creators of this film to think audiences would accept it. They didn’t, of course, and it’s arguably one of the worst movies of all time. The plot of this film makes no sense whatsoever.

Superman decides to help the world by mining minerals from the core of the Earth, but then he has to fight a computer (yes, a computer) that has taken over the world and is threatening nuclear annihilation. It’s a terrible movie that is the last in the Superman series starring Christopher Reeve. If you want to watch it, just remember: if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.

Rocky V

Rocky V is the worst Rocky movie ever made, and that’s saying something. This film is a weird mishmash of storylines that absolutely no one asked for. It’s Rocky V’s job to wrap up all of the storylines that were left open after the last movie and make sure everything is tied up and nicely put away in the Rocky franchise.

The only problem is that Rocky V is so incredibly bizarre that it’s almost impossible to describe. This movie is so bad that it is even worse than the first Rocky movie. It’s a ridiculous film that made no attempt to be realistic and was clearly written by someone who had no idea what they were doing.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is perhaps the silliest movie on this list. The film follows a group of high school students who are playing an old video game when they are sucked into the jungle where the game is set in. This movie is so stupid and ridiculous that it made a lot of money at the box office.

Audiences loved its silly premise and special effects. While this movie was entertaining, it is definitely one of the worst movies ever made.

The Honeymooners

The Honeymooners is a strange take on the classic sitcom that starred Jackie Gleason. The film, which was released in 2005, was one of the worst movies ever made. The plot, which was supposed to tell an interesting and unique take on The Honeymooners sitcom, actually just took a bunch of old Honeymooners episodes and mashed them together.

The film featured a terrible plot and even worse acting. The Honeymooners was one of the worst movies ever made because it did not have one redeeming quality.

Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists

Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists is a strange movie that nobody really asked for. This film was made in 2001 and is loosely based on the Sinbad stories. It’s a bad movie that is so bizarre that you can’t help but laugh at it. It’s one of the worst movies ever made because it is so nonsensical.

The special effects are bad, the dialogue is terrible, and the plot is confusing. It’s almost as if the film was intentionally trying to be terrible.

Dragonball Evolution

Dragonball Evolution is the worst movie on this list. It’s an attempt to turn the popular Japanese cartoon series Dragon Ball into a live-action movie. The film is so bad that it is almost impressive. The plot is nonsensical and confusing, and the dialogue is cringe-worthy.

Fans of the cartoon were outraged by this movie, and it is considered one of the worst movies ever made. If you’re looking for a bad movie to watch, you’ve got plenty of options. From awkward dialogue to terrible special effects, these are the worst of the worst. And you know what? That’s what makes them so great!

Bottom line

There are plenty of wonderful movies in the world. But there are also some real stinkers. Sometimes, a movie can be so bad that it puts you off the cinema for a while. Other times, they’re just so stupid they make you laugh out loud at how preposterous they are.

So, there you have it, the 20 worst movies of all time! When it comes to bad movies, these are the most awkward flicks that Hollywood has ever offered. Watching any of these movies is akin to experiencing cinematic torture, so you might want to steer clear!
